Youth Basketball
At the Y, our youth basketball program is designed to develop fundamental basketball skills while teaching teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship. Skills taught include passing, shooting, dribbling and the rules of the game. The focus of our youth basketball program is to have fun, meet new friends, and learn to play together
Basketball Skills and Drills 2025
The Valley YMCA Skills and Drills Basketball Program
Open to Boys and Girls Ages 3-12
Program : November 29th – December 20th
Skills and Drills is a 4 week program.
Skills and Drills will be once a week on Saturdays for 4 weeks.
All skill levels are welcome. This is a fun skills and player development program.We will teach the basic fundamentals that are built on teamwork and sportsmanship. Each participant will be coached equally regardless of skill level.

K-3rd (2025)
Division includes: K & 1st gr., 2nd & 3rd gr. Program focuses on basics of basketball & will eventually include competition based mini games such as 1 on 1, 2 v. 2, steal the bacon, dribble knockout, etc.
Saturdays plus 1 Monday evening, Nov. 8th -Dec. 20th
A few days prior to the start of the program you will get an email reminder with exact playing times. *Parents are not permitted in gym during 1st three sessions unless they are signed up to be a coach.
NO BBALL on:
- 11/29- Thanksgiving Break
- 12/13- Gymnastics Invite
Saturday mornings starting with our youngest group (K-1st) going 1st.
Will likely be K & 1st gr. at 10AM and 2nd & 3rd gr. at 11AM
*May have to change times based on the number of kids that sign up

Pre K Division 2025
Preschool Division features 45 minutes of skills & drills focusing mainly on the basics- dribbling, passing, shooting (& listening) using age-appropriate balls and hoops.
*Sign up early; space is limited!
